Rejuvenating an Ojai Shower: Tile Clean & Seal
Spring cleaning often begins in the bathroom, and recently our Kelly Cleaning & Supplies, Inc. technicians had the opportunity to restore a shower in beautiful Ojai that had seen better days. While the natural stone tile still had its charm, the grout lines and surfaces had accumulated years of soap residue, mineral buildup, and stubborn grime that regular cleaning simply couldn’t remove.
Our technician began the service with a deep tile and grout cleaning, carefully breaking down the layers of soap scum and hard water residue that had coated the walls and floor. Grout lines in particular tend to trap dirt, oils, and mineral deposits, which can dull the appearance of even the most beautiful stone tile.
Through a specialized cleaning process, those stubborn grout “icks” were lifted away, restoring the natural color and brightness of the tile installation.
Another challenge was the calcium buildup on the shower heads and water lines – a common issue in areas with mineral-rich water. Using professional-grade cleaning solutions and methods, our technician carefully removed the mineral deposits, allowing the fixtures to look refreshed and function properly again.
The final step of the process was the application of a high-quality penetrating stone sealer. This sealer protects natural stone and grout from absorbing moisture, soap residue, and minerals while maintaining the original appearance of the stone.
The results were dramatic. What once looked tired and dull now looks bright, clean, and revitalized. Even better, the sealed surfaces will now be much easier to maintain with routine cleaning.

Here’s a simple DIY method to freshen them up.
What You’ll Need:
- A large pot or sink
- Hot water
- Dish soap (preferably degreasing)
- Baking soda
- A soft brush or sponge
- Remove the metal filters from your stove hood.
- Fill a sink or pot with hot water and mix in dish soap and a generous scoop of baking soda.
- Soak the filters for about 15–20 minutes to loosen the grease.
- Gently scrub the remaining buildup with a soft brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water and allow them to dry completely before reinstalling.
Now if that grease is stubborn enough to make a leprechaun grumble, there’s no shame in calling in the professionals.
